Jennifer is a figurative artist working primarily in dry media and oils. Her practice is rooted in close observation, with drawing acting as both starting point and anchor—a means of truly looking, and finding rhythm, structure, and clarity within the subject.

She has gained recognition for her paintings of London street scenes, and landscape subjects of all kinds continue to inform and inspire her work. Jennifer has completed several extended journeys in order to explore the narrative that emerges through painting series linked by place. These ‘journey projects’ include the Thames Path, the Jurassic Coastline, the Pilgrims’ Way, and the River Wey Navigations.

Jennifer approaches painting as an ongoing conversation between what is seen and what is felt. Her influences include - Cézanne, Bonnard, Vuillard, Joan Eardley, and the Scottish Colourists. Recently, she has started to work over multiple sessions, exploring themes of memory and change through the repeated scraping back and reworking of the painted surface. Lyricism, flow, order, and rhythm are central to her practice, as is the shifting interplay between solidity and fragmentation, transience and constancy.

She has exhibited at the Mall Galleries with the Royal Society of Marine Artists and is represented by galleries across the UK. In 2016 she won the Windsor and Eton En Plein Air painting competition, and her work was subsequently admitted to the Royal Collection.
