Jennifer Greenland

Jennifer is a figurative artist working primarily in oils. Although she has drawn and painted from a young age, she studied painting formally at The Art Academy in London, from 2010 to 2012 where she was lucky to be taught by some fantastic painters excelling in their various disciplines.
In the past, Jennifer has made several painting series based on physical journeys, travelling the Thames path from the source to estuary, The Jurassic Coastline, from Exmouth to Studland Bay, The Pilgrims Way, from London to Canterbury, and The River Wey Navigations from Godalming to Weybridge.
More recently she likes to create work over multiple sessions, scraping back the previous surface and re-painting over again, aiming to capture the essence of a place or subject. Lyricism, flow, order, rhythm, and a balance between solidity and fragmentation, transience and constancy are important to her.
She has exhibited at The Mall Galleries with the Royal Society of Marine Artists and is represented by galleries across the UK.
